Dandelion Fire

SYNOPSIS

Book 2 in N.D. Wilson's 100 Cupboards Trilogy
Random House

Henry York knows that he does not belong in this world. He also knows that he only has two weeks to explore the dangerous cupboards and find the truth about his past before he’s packed up and sent to boarding school in Boston. But before he can, his world spins out of control. A dandelion burns his palm and, for a while, Henry is blind. Before his eyesight returns, a wizard named Darius abducts Henry, pulling him through the cupboards with malicious intent. For Darius knows that Henry is actually a seventh son, destined for magical power, and Darius wants Henry’s untapped power for himself.

Meanwhile, Henrietta thinks that Henry went through the cupboards exploring and tries to follow him, setting off on her own adventure. The whole family ends up scattered throughout the world behind the little doors, and even the old farmhouse is ripped out of Kansas and plopped down in a barren netherworld. The family finally reunites in Henry’s actual hometown, but Darius, serving the ancient evil Henry released in Book I, is hot on Henry’s heels.  In the end, only an epic victory against overwhelming wizardry can save the home that Henry has only just discovered.
